TDCI Issues Specific Guidance Regarding COVID-19
I am pleased to refer our members and associates to the attached Specific Guidance that was issued by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance regarding captive insurance in Tennessee. This Guidance covers several important regulatory factors affecting the transaction of captive insurance business in Tennessee, including the full operational status of the Department’s office, online notarization, extensions of filing requirements for all captives including RRGs, and waiver of the in-state board meeting requirement. As usual, the Department has been exceedingly flexible in meeting the needs of the captive insurance industry and responding to these difficult circumstances as a result of the pandemic. In short, our Department remains business friendly in the truest sense of the word, and this Guidance shows that they are doing their part to maintain the strongest of legs for the executive branch portion of the proverbial three-legged stool. I encourage anyone who has any questions regarding this Guidance to contact the Department or the TCIA.
